Supported Games And Rule Scope
Poker Engine uses server-side rule profiles to describe the procedure used by each table or tournament. Cash/private tables use major-online-poker inspired procedures. Tournaments use casino/TDA-inspired online procedures where the product has implemented the behavior. These are not official TDA or WSOP endorsements.
This is product/gameplay documentation, not jurisdiction-specific legal compliance advice. Operators remain responsible for licensing, KYC/AML, tax, consumer-protection, and local regulatory obligations in every market where they operate.
Where shown, the Rules label on a table or tournament opens the procedure that applies to it.
Supported Variants
| Variant | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Texas Hold’em | Two private cards, shared board, blinds, flop/turn/river streets, and standard high-hand showdown. |
| Omaha | Four private cards; exactly two hole cards and three board cards play at showdown. Usually pot-limit. |
| Omaha 5-Card (PLO5) | Five private cards; exactly two hole cards and three board cards play at showdown. Usually pot-limit, up to 8 seats. |
| Omaha Hi-Lo | Omaha high plus 8-or-better low qualification, with split, scoop, and tied-low handling. |
| Short Deck | 36-card deck with 2s through 5s removed; ante plus button-blind forced posts. A flush beats a full house, and A-6-7-8-9 is the lowest straight. |
| Seven-Card Stud | No community board; third through seventh street with bring-in and completion betting. Usually fixed-limit. |
| Stud Hi-Lo | Stud plus 8-or-better low qualification and split/scoop handling. |
| CUSTOM_MIXED | Product-defined mixed rotation through configured component games at hand boundaries. |
CUSTOM_MIXED is the supported product mixed format. Official named formats such as HORSE and 8-Game are not available for player registration or table creation until their missing component games, fixed-limit requirements, button procedures, and certification work are implemented.
If an official mixed format is enabled in a future release, the lobby and tournament details must show its official name and rule profile before you sit or register. Until then, any mixed table or tournament shown to players should be treated as CUSTOM_MIXED, not as exact HORSE or 8-Game.

- Your hole cards appear face-up in front of you
- Other players’ cards are hidden until showdown
- Community cards appear in the center
Action Buttons
When it’s your turn, you’ll see available actions:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Fold | Give up your hand and forfeit any bets |
| Check | Pass the action (only when no bet to match) |
| Call | Match the current bet |
| Raise | Increase the bet amount |
| All-In | Bet all your remaining chips |
Bet Slider
When raising:
- Use the slider to select your raise amount
- Or type a specific amount
- Quick buttons: Min, ½ Pot, Pot and Max (the available buttons vary by screen size and table layout)
- Click Raise to confirm
Time Bank
- Each action has a time limit (30 seconds by default; your operator can change it)
- If time runs out, you automatically check if that is free, and otherwise fold
- Use the Time Bank button for extra thinking time when one is available (60 seconds by default at cash tables, 30 seconds in tournaments)
All-In, Showdown, And Muck Behavior
- Going all-in can create side pots. You can only win pots you have contributed to. Chips that nobody called are returned to you, without rake.
- If everyone except one player folds, the last remaining player wins without a showdown and does not show their cards.
- When betting can’t continue because players are all-in, the hands still in play are turned face up, then the remaining cards are dealt automatically.
- At showdown, the server evaluates the cards. Cards speak; chat claims or declared hand names do not decide the winner.
- The last aggressor shows first, then the action moves clockwise. With no aggressor, the earliest seat shows first.
- All-in hands and winners of contested pots are always shown. Other losing hands are mucked automatically by default. Mucked and folded opponent cards stay hidden in ordinary player hand history/replay views.
- If a pot is split and can’t be divided evenly, the odd chip goes to the first winner clockwise from the button. In Hi-Lo games, the odd chip of a high/low split goes to the high hand.
- In Hi-Lo games, if no hand qualifies for the low, the high hand wins the whole pot.
- Winners and required all-in reveals are recorded with the hand result. Authorized admin game-history views may show fuller card history for audit and support review.
Chat
- Type messages in the chat box
- Be respectful to other players
- Abusive language may result in account suspension
Tournaments
Tournament Types
Scheduled Tournaments:
- Have a listed start time and a minimum number of players
- Register before the start time
- May have late registration period
Sit & Go (SnG):
- Start a few seconds after the last seat fills
- Standard fields are 2, 6, 9, or 18 players
- No late registration, rebuys, re-entries, or add-ons
Satellites:
- Award seats or tickets into a target tournament instead of ordinary cash prizes
- The tournament detail page shows the target tournament and expected seat payout rules
CUSTOM_MIXED Tournaments:
- Rotate through configured component variants at hand boundaries
- Show
CUSTOM_MIXEDin the lobby/details instead of official HORSE or 8-Game labels - Use the tournament rule profile for entries, breaks, levels, payouts, and table movement
Registering for a Tournament
- Go to Tournaments tab
- Click on a tournament
- Review the details:
- Buy-in and rake
- Starting chips
- Blind structure
- Prize distribution
- Click Register
- The buy-in and rake are taken from your balance
You can usually Unregister before the tournament starts. Your buy-in is refunded, but the rake is not.
Tournament Play
Starting:
- You’ll be seated automatically when the tournament starts
- All players begin with the same chip stack
Blind Increases:
- Blinds and any antes increase level by level, by the percentage set for the tournament
- Check the tournament details for the blind schedule
- Level changes and synchronized breaks apply at the next hand, so a hand in progress keeps its blinds
Table Balancing:
- As players are eliminated, tables are kept within one player of each other where possible
- You may be moved to a different table, but never during a hand
- Table breaking can close a short table and reseat remaining players at active tables
- Reconnect or refresh the table if you are moved; the server remains authoritative for your new seat
Final Table:
- When the remaining players fit on one table, they form the final table
- Play continues until one player remains
Hand-For-Hand:
- At the money bubble, the final-table bubble, big payout jumps, or by floor/admin directive, active tournament tables may play hand-for-hand
- A table that finishes its hand waits until the other active tables in the group complete their current hand
- Players eliminated in the same hand or hand-for-hand round are ranked by the stack they started the hand with, largest first. Equal stacks tie, and tied players share the payouts for those places equally
Sit-Out, Disconnects, And Timeouts:
- Absent tournament players keep their seat, post blinds and antes, and are still dealt cards
- If you time out, the server automatically checks when free or folds when facing a bet
- Three timeouts in a row mark you as sitting out
- Disconnecting during your action does not change the current actor by itself; the server timer and reconnect state decide what happens next
- Reconnect restores your private cards, table, tournament level, hand-for-hand, and action/time-bank state when available
Rebuys, Re-Entries, Add-Ons, And Late Registration
Late Registration:
- Allows new entries after the tournament starts while the configured window remains open
- You must be seated at an active tournament table with an available seat
- The tournament detail page shows availability and unavailable reasons
Rebuy:
- Available while the tournament is running, up to the last level of the rebuy period
- Purchase additional chips at the rebuy cost set for the tournament
- You can only rebuy when your stack is at or below the starting stack, and up to the maximum number of rebuys
- If you bust, you get a short time (60 seconds) to decide on a rebuy or re-entry
Re-entry:
- Register again after being eliminated
- Receive the re-entry stack set for the tournament
- A maximum number of re-entries applies
Add-On:
- Optional extra chips during a configured add-on window
- Usually limited by count and tournament level
- During an active hand, added chips may be queued until the next hand unless the rule profile allows immediate live chips
Prize Distribution
- Prizes are paid to top finishers, as a percentage of the prize pool for each place
- The prize pool is made up of all buy-ins, rebuys, re-entries and add-ons. The rake is not part of it. A guaranteed tournament pays at least its fixed prize
- Winnings are credited automatically to the wallet of the tournament’s currency
- In satellites, the top finishers each receive a ticket worth the target tournament’s buy-in. The next finisher receives any remaining cash
- If a payout is held for floor review, crediting resumes only after an authorized release
